Welcome. This page exists so you don't have to dig around figuring out where to go.

Living Sword Ministries does two things. We give people a straight answer about the gospel, and we teach people to read the Bible for themselves. Everything here serves one of those two purposes.

"I don't know where I stand with God."

That's the most important page on this site. It lays out what the Bible says about sin, about what Jesus Christ did on the cross, and about how a person is actually saved. No conditions bolted onto it and no sales pitch.

If you read it and you're still not sure, write me. Ken@livingswordministries.org. That's not a form letter. I'll answer you.

"I've been taught something and it doesn't sit right."

You're not being difficult. A lot of what gets taught in churches isn't in the Bible, and noticing that is a good instinct, not a bad one.

The articles here take one question at a time and work through it from the text. When a passage looks like it argues against what we believe, we quote it and deal with it instead of skipping it.

Start with [Does Baptism Save You? →]. It's the longest thing on the site right now and it shows how we handle a hard question.

"I want to read the Bible for myself."

That's the whole point of this ministry. We don't want you dependent on us, or on a man behind a pulpit, or on anybody else. We want you able to open the Bible and check what you're being told.

Material on how to study the Bible is coming. It's the next thing being built. If that's what brought you here, get on the email list and you'll know when it's up.

"I want to know where you stand before I read anything."

Fair. That's exactly what a person should do.

[What We Believe →] lays out our positions plainly, including the ones other Christians disagree with. We'd rather you know up front than find out later and feel like something got hidden from you.

[About →] tells you who's writing this and why it exists.

A few things you should know

Everything here is free. There's nothing behind a paywall and there's no giving mechanism on this site. That's on purpose.

This site is new. There isn't much here yet. One person writes it in the hours around a job and two young sons, so it grows slowly. We'd rather publish one careful thing than a pile of sloppy material.

We're a library, not a personality. The goal isn't for you to follow us. It's for you to know the Bible well enough that you don't need us.

If we get something wrong, tell us. Show it to us from the Bible. We'd rather be corrected than be confidently wrong in public.
